Update: Dear Northern Irish Tube Driver Lady

After blogging about the Northern Irish Tube Driver Lady last week, I decided to write to TFL in search of her true identity.  Today I received the following email from TFL:

Our ref: 1006001022
Date: 24.02.2010

Dear Miss Tung

Thank you for your feedback form about one of our train drivers on the Bakerloo line.

I'm pleased that you found the announcements made by our driver so helpful and positive. I can't provide you with the driver's personal details but I've passed your comments on to the Train Operations Managers for the Bakerloo line so they can let her read what you've said and give her chance to read your blog.

Thanks again for taking the time to write into us. Please contact me again if you need any help in the future.

Yours sincerely,

Richard Booth

Alas, I didn't think they'd reveal her true identity.  But I do hope she really does get my message and knows how wonderful she is.

  2. Haha, they think you're a stalker or something! That's excellent. Maybe she'll give you a shoutout one of these days!

  3. Yeah I know, now I feel a bit like a dangerous stalker. I hope I have her as my driver again sometime in the new future! She really cheers me up, as Adeline says.

  5. Dear Anne,

Although I haven't met you in person, thank you so much for the joy you add to so many peoples' tube journeys, including my own. You make such a positive difference in so many lives.

Can you please let me know if you drive on certain days or times? I will make an effort to leave my flat earlier/later in order to catch your train!

    With best wishes,
    JT

  6. p.s. I'm very sorry for mistaking your accent for a Northern Irish accent - please forgive an ignorant American! I will be sure to update my blog to reflect this.
