Have a Peaceful Weekend.
Hey, you. Aren't you glad it's Friday? What are you up to this weekend?
I'm joining a handful of other bloggers tomorrow to take a special tour of St. Paul's before scarfing down some scones at afternoon tea and listening to the enchanting sounds of Evensong in the cathedral. Have you ever been? I'm super excited. I'll be posting about it next week, but in the meantime, you can follow along on Instagram.
Sunday, we're off to a family barbecue in Cambridge, and I also hope I'll have some time to play with my new camera.
Have a great one.
xo

So glad it is Friday!! Have fun at Evensong I have not been to something like that since my Catholic school days but it is always so peaceful to sit in a church and listen to live signing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bailie! I ended up having a fantastic weekend. I hope you did too! Evensong was beautiful. I'm not religious, but I always find listening to sung liturgy an incredibly moving experience.
DeleteHope you had a great time at St Paul's, I am still to visit the Whispering Gallery and I live there, well a stone's throw away!

Haha, you definitely need to make it over to the Whispering and Golden Gallery, Suze! No excuses, especially as you are so close by! ;)
DeleteI've loved seeing the photographs of the afternoon tea at St Paul's on your and Katy's Instagram - it looks like an absolutely stunning setting for a luxurious day out.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you can please help - I'd like to take my mum to London next year for her 50th birthday, and afternoon tea is definitely something I want to treat her to. Do you recommend the St Paul's tea, or is there another place you think would be better for a special occasion?
x
Thanks, Charlene! Tea at St. Paul's was really lovely - I'll be blogging about it soon, so you'll be able to see more, and I'd definitely recommend it. The tea I went to at the Intercontinental with Rebecca was really nice though, and I'd personally take my mom to that one ... maybe not the Scents of Summer one as it was a little wacky (which I wrote about here: http://angloyankophile.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/scents-of-summer-afternoon-tea.html), but the traditional one would be lovely.
DeleteI've not had the tea at Corinthia, but that setting looks spectacular as well. x
Ooh I am so excited to see the photos from your new snapper - I am soooo jealous, it is a gorgeous, gorgeous camera.
ReplyDeleteI was at a wedding yesterday so we're having a suitably quiet Sunday; drinking tea, eating cake and reading magazines. Yip, I'm happy :-)
Haha, thank you, Chiara! I've really loved using it so far, even though I don't know what I'm doing! Hope you had a lovely weekend - your Sunday sounds like THE DREAM. x
