Bank Holiday Weekend Goals Vs. What I Actually Did
Goals for Bank Holiday Weekend:
1. Marie Kondo my wardrobe.
2. Sell rejected items from Marie Kondo exercise on eBay.
3. Marie Kondo the final box from our move last summer languishing in the spare room.
4. Write 6 blog posts.
5. Go to the gym 4 times.
What actually happened:
1. Ate a brisket burger. Saw Kung Fu Panda 3 in 3D.
2. Went to the gym once.
3. Cooked a roast meal for friends. Drank too much wine.
4. Ended up stark naked on a heated marble slab being scrubbed down with salt and honey after being thrashed with birch twigs in a Russian sauna. Followed up with beer and pickles in the "relaxation room".
5. Watched Despicable Me while eating Cadbury Creme Eggs with a spoon. Passed out at 9:00 p.m.
Yup.

ReplyDeleteBASICALLY. I highly, highly recommend that sauna, btw. Game changer.
DeleteSounds like a dream.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lesson in spontaneity, that's for sure!
Delete"Cadbury Creme Eggs with a spoon"
ReplyDeleteClass.
There are (best-laid) plans, and then there is what actually happens.
[No time for spoons round here though - as soon as the wrapper comes off, it's "Creme Egg meets mouth" time]
Haha! I like to eat them that way too, Iain, but then I decided to experiment with scooping out the filling first and liked that better! :D
DeleteYou're making me feel guilty too ;-). I did get to the gym a few times but ate so much in between that it hardly counts. The Russian sauna sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteThe Russian sauna was CRAZY. Crazy, but so much fun. I'd highly recommend it. Certainly an experience I never imagined I'd have on Easter Sunday night!
DeleteThis sounds like the perfect weekend! Too much wine and dinner with friends sounds like the perfect combination!

Thanks, Courtney! We rarely ever had guests over when I was growing up, so I feel like I've been making up for lost time ever since we bought our house! It's so fun to sit around the dinner table and laugh and chat for hours over delicious food.
DeleteYou eat your creme eggs with a spoon?! Very classy lady. I think now they're getting smaller I could pop them in whole. Oink. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't always, Rebecca, but I recently discovered that I liked scooping out the filling separately - weird, I know! So good ... wish I brought one to work with me today!
DeleteSounds exactly like my weekend plans vs. what actually happened! Except you did better than me in the gym department. I did have an hour long walk, I'm gonna count that :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, awesome! Did you go to a Russian sauna too?!
DeleteFor some reason that boggles the mind Sweden does not get Cadbury Creme Eggs but next time I manage to get one I am so trying the spoon thing!
ReplyDeleteHaha! People were up-in-arms over the spoon eating incident but sometimes I just like to separate it from the chocolate! Try it and report back, please! I just used a teaspoon. :)
DeleteCadbury's Creme eggs with a spoon sounds genius!
ReplyDeleteTry it, Angie! It's a great technique ;)
DeleteWell, looks like you actually ENJOYED your weekend. ;) Russian sauna sounds amazing! xoxo, nano
ReplyDeleteHaha, definitely! Would highly recommend the sauna - such a surreal but relaxing experience! xoxo
DeletePretty sure you're actually easter break was the better version! :)
ReplyDeleteK.
Haha - who needs cleaning and organizing when they can just sip beer and get thwacked with birch leaves in a sauna?
DeleteHaha, amazing! There's the epitome of a balanced weekend, right there!
ReplyDeleteLol ... it was one of the best weekends I'd spent here in London.
